Eat Your Way To Healthy Skin

Here, how to eat your way to healthy skin – and a better body
But if your skin is flaky or dry, it could mean you are not having enough essential fatty acids, contained in certain fish, seeds and nuts. Pimples indicate stress and sagging skin could be down to chemicals in cigarette smoke, fried food or the sun.  Experts believe a few simple changes to your diet could really improve the condition of your skin AND hold back the signs of ageing by up to 20 years. And if your skin is in good shape, the rest of you will follow suit.
1. BLACKBERRIES
THESE help the body produce collagen, which will put you on the right path towards smooth, supple skin. They're also high in antioxidants, which combat the signs of ageing.
2. OILY FISH
SARDINES, mackerel, fresh tuna and other oily fish are key to keeping pores clear and skin moisturised and plump. This is thanks to their omega-3 fatty acids.
3. KIWI FRUIT
THIS fruit reduces wrinkles, helps rid us of dark circles under the eyes and also contains phenolic compounds which help to fight against skin irritations.
4. DARK CHOCOLATE
THE sweet treat contains flavonoids. These can leave skin feeling smooth and also offer extra sun protection. So bring on the Green & Black's – in moderation, of course!
5. ASPARAGUS
ADD asparagus to your dinner once a week and you'll soon say goodbye to dryness, chapping, inflammation and flaking. Its vitamin B helps lock moisture in to the skin.
6. PUMPKIN SEEDS
THIS handy snack is very rich in all-important zinc, which can help to repair damaged skin. Just include a handful of the seeds in your daily diet.
7. OATS
THEY are packed with vitamin B and you can also make an exfoliating face scrub with oats and warm water. Simply apply, wait for ten minutes, then rinse off.
8. WATERCRESS
IT might not be your first culinary choice but watercress is known for helping relieve eczema and rashes, thanks to the heaps of vitamin C that it contains.
9. MILLET
CARBS are vital for a healthy tum and healthy skin. Swap mash or rice for the grain millet (available from health food shops) and watch your skin go from greying to glowing.
10. STRAWBERRIES
THIS tasty fruit contains ellagic acid, which is an antioxidant that protects skin against harmful UV rays. We knew there was a reason for strawberries at Wimbledon.
11. EGGS
ALBUMEN (or egg white) launches a three-pronged attack on skin conditions. The protein tightens pores, reduces puffy eyes and soothes irritated skin.
12. BRAZIL NUTS
PACKED with selenium which battles acne and skin infections. The mineral also improves the elasticity of skin and helps prevent natural collagen from deteriorating.
13. AVOCADO
THIS is known for keeping cholesterol levels low and blood pressure steady. But it turns out that its high fat content and high levels of both vitamins C and E help to hydrate skin too.
